Through our operating companies, IIR produces high calorific steam coal, which is mostly used for steam generation as well as for fuel supplements by various industries. Our coal specification offers customers the advantage of high heat value with low ash content for efficient coal usage.
The coal specification is analyzed by independent third parties to ensure that the quality consistently meets our customers’ requirements.
- 3800 GAR Purpose of usage: Primarily used for power generation and industrial applications where moderate calorific value is sufficient.
- 4200 GAR Purpose of usage: Ideal for power plants and cement industries that require higher energy output.
- 5200 GAR Purpose of usage: Suitable for high-efficiency power plants and export markets demanding superior quality coal.
Characteristics: Moderate calorific value (around 3800 kcal/kg), low ash.
Characteristics: Higher calorific value (around 4200 kcal/kg) compared to 3800 GAR, providing better energy efficiency and output. This type of coal is preferred for industries that need reliable and consistent energy supplies for intensive operations.
Characteristics: High calorific value (around 5200 kcal/kg) with lower moisture and ash content, resulting in cleaner burning and higher performance. This premium grade coal is ideal for applications that require high energy density and minimal environmental impact.

Biomass
- Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) Palm Kernel Shell is a byproduct of the palm oil industry, known for its high calorific value and low ash content, making it an excellent renewable energy source for power plants and industrial boilers.
- Wood Pellets Wood Pellets are a high-density biomass fuel made from compressed sawdust and wood shavings. They are ideal for residential heating, commercial energy generation, and as a replacement for fossil fuels in power plants.
